What I spent my time doing for a few weeks or so. A homage to my favorite video game character, Megaman X.It's all hand-made, no altering of a baseball helmet or anythign like that. The inside and parts were made from cardboard and paper, strengthened with bondo and casting plastic, then sanded smooth and painted. The jewel I molded and cast myself, and even light up!
I may try a second attempt the 'proper way', by sculpting it with oil-based clay and making a mold to cast it, but that'll be later when I get too sick of looking at this one.
